The ControlMax 1900 Pro is rated 1600 psi, 0.40 gpm, a 0.019 in. maximum tip and a 0.7 hp pump motor. The 1700 Pro is rated 1500 psi, 0.33 gpm, 0.017 in. and 0.6 hp. Both use Titan's HEA tips and a replaceable fluid section, and the site covers both on one cart-models diagram.
The short answer
The 1900 Pro is the bigger of the two on every figure Titan's dealers list: more pressure, more delivery, a larger maximum tip and a bigger pump motor. The gaps are modest, not a different class of machine. Choose the 1900 Pro if you regularly need a larger tip or spend long days spraying, and the 1700 Pro for home and light repaint work.
Spec table side by side
ControlMax 1700 Pro and 1900 Pro, as listed by Titan and its dealers
| Item | 1700 Pro | 1900 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Part number | 0580006 (cart); 0580009 (1700) | 0580008 |
| Maximum pressure | 1500 psi | 1600 psi |
| Maximum delivery | 0.33 gpm | 0.40 gpm |

| Pump motor | 0.6 hp | 0.7 hp |
| Hose | Sources disagree | 50 ft |
| Duty rating | Up to 300 gal per year | Not confirmed here |
Weights are left out because the sources disagree. The 1900 Pro's yearly rating comes from one source, so we do not quote it. The 1900 Pro is on the site as 0580008.
What pressure and flow mean for the job
The tip does most of the work in deciding what a sprayer can do. A larger orifice delivers more material per minute, so a 0.019 in. maximum tip lets the 1900 Pro lay down more coating per pass than the 0.017 in. maximum on the 1700 Pro. That matters on larger surfaces or thicker, unthinned coatings, which Titan lists as something the ControlMax line handles. It is a small step up, not a big one.
Neither sprayer is a promise that a given coating will spray. Check the manual and the coating's data sheet, and phone (713) 931-0006 if you are unsure whether a material suits your model.
What both share
- HEA tips. Titan states that HEA (High Efficiency Airless) tip technology decreases overspray by up to 55% and delivers a softer spray. The 55% is a best-case figure from Titan.
- A replaceable fluid section. Titan describes it as replaceable and rebuildable.
- One diagram page. The site covers both on the ControlMax 1700Pro/1900 Pro Main Assembly (Cart Models) page, plus the Pro suction set and spray gun pages.
Because the cart page covers both, parts such as the 0580493 fluid section assembly are listed once for both models. That is the only sense in which we can say they share parts. Anything not on the shared diagrams should be confirmed by phone.
Tips, gun and hose for each
Titan's listing for the 230V export version of the 1900 lists tips 311, 515 and 619, an all-metal gun, an inline filter and swivel, and a pressure gauge. For HEA tips, Titan's ControlMax site names 311, 313, 413, 515 and 517. The 413 gives an 8 to 10 in. pattern and is for solid color stains, lacquers, enamel and polyurethanes.
- 353-701F ControlMax spray gun and 353-706 hose, from the Pro spray gun page.
- HEA tips on the site: 353-413 and 353-517, plus 353-619.
- Check the tip's maximum size against your sprayer's rating before you order: 0.017 in. on the 1700 Pro, 0.019 in. on the 1900 Pro.
The gun page lists two hoses, 353-706 and 353-708, as separate items. If hose length matters for your job, confirm which one suits your model with our parts team, and see the ControlMax HEA page for the family overview.
